Southern Energy Renewables and the National Laboratory of the Rockies have entered into a CRADA and option agreement to advance synthetic aviation fuel technology using syngas and carbon dioxide to produce branched hydrocarbons for jet fuel applications. The collaboration will focus on scaling the DOE-funded catalytic process, evaluating feedstock flexibility, catalyst durability, and integration with industrial carbon streams and gasification systems. The agreement supports future demonstration projects and potential U.S. commercial deployment, while building on Southern’s broader fuels development efforts with Frontline Bioenergy and DevvStream.
